WELLINGTON
The Awesome Capital of New Zealand
September 2013
Our first destination was Victoria Lookout. I read and saw lots of amazing photos taken from there. As you might guess, this is a lookout place on a hill with great views of city. Unfortunately, that day was so windy and freezing so we had just a couple of minutes to watch the scene and took some photos. My plan is to go there one more time - hope in the summer time and take wonderful photos both when sun is shining and when feeling the romance of sunset with accompany of delicious wines.
For dinner, we looked restaurants on Cuba street. It was crazy, there were lots of lovely decorated restaurants and it was hard to decide. We chose an Argentine restaurant - El Matador and enjoyed the atmosphere inside, being served by nice waiters, eating delicious meat and Argentine style tapas. And the wine, it was the best Pinot Noir, I have drunk ever.Next day, I woke up with warm feeling of sun, touching my face. It was a sunny day with 15 degree outside and no wind! Again I felt myself very lucky because I heard that the number of windless days are very limited in Wellington.
I had my breakfast at Cafe Cuba 178 in Cuba street. I do not know the reason yet but Cuba is really popular in New Zealand :) Cafe's atmosphere was really nice, and I enjoyed my coffee and tosty there. Just a note for this Cafe, they do not accept credit cards. As I realized that after I had given my order, I went the closest cash machine to get cash :/ It was the worst part of this Cafe.
After breakfast, I walked through the sea. Photos below will help me to share my beautiful day with you.
